gas tank

i am in need of replacing my rear 19 gallon tank where can i get the tank for as cheap as possible should i buy new or used .

JC Whitney offers a 38 gal steel replacement. Don't know current price.

The 19 gal tank at J/C/W is $150 plus what ever shipping and the 38 gal is $470.And the straps for each tank are $33 a set

I don't know why I just thought of this, but since the 38 is just a 19 that is thicker (I think), why not drop the 19, have a weld shop plasma it in half, weld in a sheet metal extension between the upper and lower half, and buy a longer pickup?
