Hey guys, have a 52 F-1 panel. Does anyone out there have an extra outside handle for the rear doors? I had some work done on it a while back and the guy totally screwed me. When it came back the handle was loose. Now it's gone and I cant get the doors open. By the way now I only do my own work on my trucks. I guess I had to learn the hard way right? Anyway one outer door handle for the rear doors on a 52 panel would help out a ton as I'm trying to get it complete to sell it. John
I, too, have a '52 Panel... and a '51 Panel. The handle for the Panel is not the same as for the front doors. It looks the same, but the rear door handle is attached to the body with 2 screws from the outside. Both of my Panels do not have original handles. The only thing that you need to be concerned about that correct thinkness of the square shaft that extends from the handle.
You can use a regular front door handle from the truck to open up the Panel door, but you'd have to put it in and pull it out each time. This is what I do with my '51 Panel. Think of it as a theft deterrent. For my '52, I found a door handle with an attachment and the same size shaft. Also, there are two types of rear door handle shafts, long and short. Having a longer shaft allows you to put another handle on the inside of the door, which would allow you to open the rear door from the inside.
I also would love to see pictures of your Panel. Do you have any?
