I have a 93 F-150, and am needing to replace the door strikers. Cause of the plastic sleeve broke off of them both. I was wondering if all you have to do is unscrew it. Or do you have to get behind the trim piece in the truck to hold the nut? Any triks? Thanks
admin note: please don't monkey around with links, either post them or don'twww.lmctruck.com. Door striker for F-series 1980-96 part number 40-2772 for $12.95 each. Now just got to figure out if the nut stays in place when removed or do I have to take all the trim pieces off. I even learned a few wraps of electrical tape works well. LoL

They just unscrew. The nut is on plate with some adjustment in it try to get them back in the same spot they came from. Side note I repair mine. I take the washer off after I get them off the car take a piece of 1/2 yard irrigation plastic tubing (from Lowes) cut a piece the right length and slip over the bolt reinstall washer put it back on truck. Costs less than a nickel to fix.
i replaced my striker bolts and since then it has been really hard to completely shut my doors. i got it at autozone. my brother did the same exact thing and its hard to shut his doors too. ive adjusted them to see if it was in the right posistion or not but it never helped with the door shutting
