some 05 stereo/nav info

almost forgot this
installed the pioneer avic-n1 and xm tuner
about a month ago
2005 f350

the 05's have the speed sensor wire right in the factory
radio wire harness grey\blk
you will need this for navigation systems

the reverse wire
drop the fuse panel-3 bolts
and looking at it(back side)
I think it was in the upper right corner
you will find the wire

also you have to remove the whole dash panel to access the
factory radio--kinda of a pain in the a--
there is a good post in here on this procedure
its kinda of a sucky design compared to past years
but once you get it apart you will see why its like that
there is gobs of space in there now and the metal frame
is recessed back alot-

if your setup has seperate brain or control box like the avic-n1
a good spot close by over the glove box
drop the glove box--and look up --right under the air bag assy. there
is good size open space--there is a tab coming down off the frame where
you can mount your brain--there is one hole precut on the tab for a screw--line up and drill the second hole--now you can mount the box without the
supplied bracket
on the other end on the brain use a piece of flexible strapping
or I used a heavy duty zip tie over the truck frame and around the whole
brain(you will see how this works -hard to describe) this will keep the unit
from vibrating or moving at all- as its all ready pretty secure from the 2 screws on the other end
this is a good spot as navigation units that need to be level and right side up
and facing straight forward with direction of travel

there are alot of people getting such units now hope this assists
