Hello,
Does anyone know of a good place to find a good stock fuel tank for a 1950 F-1? Mine was rusty and now leaks around the seam after a treatment of muratic acid . I also need the small flat coil spring for the door handle on my drivers side door. This spring not only keeps the outside handle from drooping it also operates the door latch on closing. This part is not listed in the catalogs I have on hand.
Thank you very much for any responses.

Reason: adding a question
It's a little late now, but muriatic acid was not a good choice of chemicals to use on your fuel tank. If the leak is small, I'd take the tank to a radiator shop and see if they can repair and seal it. That would be less expensive than buying another one and then having to repair that one. It is unlikely that you will find another 55 year old gas tank that does not need some kind of repair.
Had an original tank in my panel, which I bought in 95. Tank had a few pinholes just above the old gas level; was half full of 15 year old gas.
Got the POR 15 3 part gas tank "rejuvinator"...a cleaner, then a primer, then the stuff which does the sealing...
Never leaked a drop since. I believe this stuff can seal up to 1/8 holes.
Of course, might be just as easy for a rad shop to seal it.
I got one if it has not been trashed at the shop. It was taken off 2 months ago. It was cleaned out last year and coated inside, 'bout $125 worth. Anyway I went under the bed with a new tank. I will make you a deal if it is still at the shop (I will check tomorrow) It is yours for the price of one beverage of choice at the SuperNats. If that is too much we can re-nego the price.
