Rough Idle/Injector?
Developed rough idle when at a stop, felt thru the brake pedal. Before this week truck always ran smooth as silk. Still have same fuel milage and same power(unless it has decreased gradually). Last flash was 9/03 and still have all 8 original injectors. Fuel filters changed every 10-12,000 miles. What are the charactaristics of a failing injector? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Idle roughness is one of the symptoms. Should be some codes with an cylinder imbalance possible but not 100% sure. Fuel in oil is another. Oil should smell of diesel fuel. An oil sample would definitely show it.
Bad fuel would do this as well. Did you just fuel up, change oil?

I'm about 1500 miles into oil change and was at the end of a tank when I noticed it, filling up didn't change anything. I've been buying diesel from the same place for the last 2 years.

I guess I should have known to start with something simple instead of fearing the worst. Just went out to recheck oil level and tried unplugging EGR, drove it around and my truck is back to normal, plugged it back in and the rough idle returned. Is this something I can clean myself or is it under warranty? Thanks for your replies guys.
