My question is this. Do Mazda pickups have locks on the glovebox? I have a 97 Ranger, that I wish had a lock on the glovebox, and if I find that Mazda's do, I'm going to look for a glovebox out of/for a Mazda.
Yes, my 97 is an XLT and from what I can find out, 97 is about the year they stopped putting locks on the glovebox.
I just contacted My local Ford Dealership and the parts guy says that the latch is interchangeable with the 96 and 97, but unless I can find a junked one it's buy the kit to change the locks for the doors, ignition, and glove box, and then take the latch from the new kit and put on my glovebox. The price of $85 is a bit much just to get a lock on the glovebox, and I don't need to change the locks on my truck. ??? ??? I guess it's time to hit the junk yards or invent something of my own.
