I see multiple posts on a number of threads about the behaviour of the 4R100 tranny in the PSD. I gather that the PCM programs change over the years, and the shift points, T/C lockup features, and no doubt other program parameters have been changed. My tranny has a completely different behaviour than another member I exchanged posts with on DieselStop, both with the same truck year and tranny.
I went to Ford yesterday to inquire about updating my PCM code. The Service Tech said that all the could do is either update it or not, and once updated, could not restore my original code. He had no info on the changes that would be made. That is unacceptable, and I declined.
I need an authoritative source to contact at Ford where I can get the details on the features of the PCM code for various models of the code, and a method by which I can choose which code model I can acquire and install. Will someone please provide me with this information?
Thanks
Warren
