I just purchased a used 2001 SD crew cab, 4x4, 60k miles, V-10. Shortly after the purchase driving around on the farm I noticed a creaking sound from underneath. The front end is tight and seems to be in good repair. I am thinking it is just the rubber spacer in the shackle for the front leaf springs.

Anyone else had this problem?
Any feedback would be appreciated.

Mine does that also. I spray them with lube everytime I get under truck and it does seem to help.
Mine does the same, I have used WD-40, and other spray lube's and they work well right up untill it rains, then you must do it again. I had thought about taking the spring packs loose and installing small pieces of teflon between the springs but just never got around to it, not sure it would work anyway!
This creaking is very common on the 99-04 sd with the leaf spring fronts. I think I read a post somewhere either in this forum or the v10 forum that someone had the part number for the plastic piece that separates the two leafs right at the rear spring perch for the front springs(kind of hard to explain that one) under the drivers and passegers side floor boards. I too have been spraying mine with wd40 every oil change or so for the last 100,000 miles. It looks like you can take a crow bar and separate the two springs momentarily and put this new plastic piece in. I think I'm going to see if I can find that post and see if the stealership can get me these plastic separators. Can't be too pricey but who knows. I'll try to do a search and let you guy's know if I can find something
