Ok Boss50, there are a few problems with your statment(s). Number one, Isn't even close to stock? The only thing that isn't sraight from Ford is the 4.10 gears. Yes it is a 351, but like so many have mentioned it is making the same power as the Stang guys with an engine that is a decade older.
Number two, when i sat out to make this car, my goal was to make a car that would beat a mustang for as little as possible, and for your information, i bought the car for 400, bought the engine for 150, and spent 80 on the gears for a grand total of 630 bucks. Thats not bad considerning it will beat cars that cost several times over again what my Thunderchicken costs, so i think i have earned the right to brag a little bit, but i'm still not cocky though, because i know that there are far more cars that can beat it, but you would be hard pressed to find one that could for the price i did it in.

Hey Robert - I'm getting an '85 T-Bird for free. I have to tow it (you know you're a redneck if you've never bought a car you could drive home) 'cause the tranny linkage is goofed up. Nice to hear the vehicle is that light - it looks pretty solid. Mine's got a V-6, which is fine since my 17 year old son is going to be the driver. If he had a hot 351W it would be trouble. Sounds like you put together a fun drive.

Thanks, Yeah, i've done what i wanted to with it, so now im probably going to get rid of it before this winter. I'm looking to get a 99 or 00 Mustang (I love Mustangs). It will eventually be supercharged and be pushing well over 400 horsepower! I can't wait.
p.s. Im only 18, but have been working on cars since i was 3 feet tall!!

It aint hard to beat a mustang of that generation, they're not very quick from the factory. Back then they were quick, but not to todays standards.
Beating a mustang in a dollar for dollar HP race is another story. You can make em' fly for cheap.
