Plastic Bumper?

Is it true that the rear bumper on the 2003 superduty is hard plastic??

I've heard that you can't use a Hi-lift jack on it ...is that the reason?

anybody know where I can get a REAL chrome bumper that has the mounts for the reverse sensor?

I thought mine was metal also until I saw it flex under a little stress from my hand...Do ya think a magnet would be a good test or will it get attached to the chome coating?

Mine isn't. It's all metal but the center step section has plastic cladding on it. I've used my Hi-Lift on it several times without any problems. (Rotating tires)

I put the lifting part in the center of the rear bumper or under the tow-hooks in the front. Never any problems.

Mine has plastic stepping surfaces on the top, and on the center section. It's probably the same thing. The chrome parts of mine are metal.
