Hi All,
I just got my tranny and boost gauge in, now saving for the EGT. I was just wondering for those of you who do have the EGT gauge, how long do you usually let the truck cool down after running it, In town, Highway, pulling a load? I know there are a few factors that go into it, but I was just thinking if I could get some ball-park times so I know I'm not burning anything up. I have been estimating it off the engine temp gauge, I figure if the engine cools down the turbo should be too. I usually do around 5-7min after pulling, playing hard, and highway runs. and about a min after around town easy driving. I usually take it easy, unless I pull up next to a mopar or chev at the light.
I don't have the pyro gauge yet, Arent EGT and Pyro the same? DId I have a brain fart? Thats why I was wondering about how long you let the engine idle to cool things down. sorry my bad
Sorry, I guess I read through your post to quick. Usually I leave mine running for a couple minutes, if I have been pulling the trailer. If driving unloaded, the slow drive through town to my house has the temps down in the right range.
Your right, pyro and egt is the same.
