I was wiring my XM radio yesterday and was looking under the dash, there is a 2 inch metal bracket (not painted) with some kind of spring loaded switch in the middle of it located about 4 inches to the right of the emergengy brake pedal does anyone know what this is for?
The fuel pump reset should be in the RIGHT side kick panel (by pax foot).
The bracket you're talking about doesn't have ANYTHING in it on my truck!?!? Do you have adjustable pedals? I'm trying to think of what accy's you might have (that I don't) to warrant putting such a thing in there. My wiring diagram doesn't give any clues as to what might be installed there. Sure is a wonder.

I have adjustable pedals and mine doesn't have anything on it either. I figured it must be for the brake controler so I installed it there.
I'll check and see where the wires might go. I really don't have any of the fancy accessories on the truck. Its a small round spring loaded switch and just looked out of place.
It's your "warranty switch." Ford knows you didn't buy the extended warranty, so at 36001 miles this switch trips and EVERYHING starts to go wrong. Now, if you HAD purchased the warranty, the dealer would have removed this switch before delivery. And only your dealer knows how to safely remove it....
Birdhunter1, you have offended me. I am Irish. If I wasn't too busy drinking beer and beating my wife I would take a shillelagh to ya.
Chris
Sorry man I was just kidding, I love the Irish, well I love Mickey's at least which is an Irish malt liquor that is made by the Irish. OK I love the Irish!
