81 F150 300-6. 102,000m. 3 years ago tried to start it and something clogged the carb and fuel poured over the sides of the carb and the engine made this LOUD squeeeeek noise then I stopped the starter. Last summer I added oil to the engine until it poured out of the dipstick tube but I haven't tried to turn the engine over in any way. I need to get this truck running asap as my other F150 has a leaking head gasket. Your suggestions?
Rebuild or replace the carb sounds like floats sticking, drain and replace fluids replace to proper levels and change filters. Once thats done theres an old farm trick put about 1/4 of a quart of good oil down carb for upper cylinder lubrcation *note it will burn oil till it clears out keep running will run rough. check all belts and hoses for dry rott. Radiator may have rot on inside due to sitting so long whithout changing. The chemical break down of anti freeze eats the core. Good luck, might have been easier to replace head gasket on other truck.
Warning. Do not turn over an engine with the starter if you suspect a flooded carb has filled the cylinders with gas. If the gas ignites then you have a flame thrower on your hands. I know from experience by being in the wrong place at the wrong time when someone did this. Spent 6 weeks in the hospital with 3rd degree burns because I happened to be walking by a mechanics stall on the way to the parts counter when he turned the key and didn't pull the coil wire. Gas was blown out the cylinder and ignited with the plug wire.
I got a carb off of my 83 today and will put it on this truck. I have a carb kit for the original carb, but I'm about the last person on earth to successfully rebuild a carb.

You got way too much oil in that engine if you added until it poured out the dipstick tube.
I purposely added that much oil to the engine in order to keep as much of the internals of the engine soaked in oil instead of rust forming on metals inside there. There is no way I would try to start the engine with 3 times the normal amount of oil inside of it.
I finally got to work on it friday. Without doing anything else I put a 15/16 socket on the crank and it turned easily. So I know this baby is not stuck. Now to swap the carb, fix the brakes and get this resting old horse running.
