Disk brake conversion complete

I just finished my power disk brake conversion on my 66. What a difference it has made. Not only does it stop so much better it handles like a new truck. I'm still planning to do the power steering conversion but have found that after all of the work on the brake conversion it steers so much easier. I would imagine it steers so easy because of the new spindles and king pins. The old spindles were very hard to turn and had not seen grease for years. Anyway i'm very pleased with the outcome and appreciate all of the suggestions and advice along the way.

Welcome to the disc side. I did it about 3 yrs ago. It was a dirty messy job, but I have loved every minute of the payoff.

Just like you I am going to p/s asap. Hopefully, I can scout the junk yards this afternoon. The p/b swap parts cost me less than buying new drums. I also don't have to clean my shorts every time I have to make a sudden stop in rush hour traffic.

Im Jealous dads66! I decided while I had mine all torn up, I would take the beams out and do the Autofab 3" lift in the front, so now Im waiting for my lift parts to be finished, including a new draglink and tierod and springs. Did you end up getting the braided stainless brake lines? What did you do about your wheel problem? I cant wait to start putting mine back together!

I was very lucky in this aspect. Bought the truck with 4 wheel disc brakes already installed I've got the parts (minus hoses) to do a power steering set up. Just haven't done it yet.

Tremecgt, I decided not to get the braided hoses. As for the wheel problem: It turns out that only one rim had the clearance problem so i took 1 of the rear ones and put in front just to get me to the alignment shop and tire store where i bought new rims and tires.
