axle questions
I have an axle from a 1978 Ford LTD and the tag reads as follows:
WER-AA 7HE
247 87012A
From what I can figure it has a 2.47:1 open gear ratio. However, I would like to know if someone can tell me what type of axle is this? Is it a 8" or 8.8". I highly doubt it is a 7.5 because it would seem pretty ignorant to stick that small of an axle on that big of a car. Thanks for any of you help!
