I recently replaced my mlps switch because it was throwing a code and the tranny was having funny syptoms. The trans seems to be shifting fine now but I am still getting these codes within the first 2-5 miles of driving.
179 Fuel system at part throttle lean adaptive limit, system rich (Rear Side).
332 Insufficient EGR flow.
628 Lock-up solenoid circuit failure, excessive clutch slippage.
I thought the 628 would clear up with the new mlps, the 179 is a new one and Ive had the 332 for some time. Are these codes related in anyway, Any suggestions as to what I can check next.
One thing that is strange is that my heater blower wouldnt work initially after the mlps install untill I put it in gear and drove off, its been fine since but I just thought that was wierd?
The EGR error is probably a carboned up EGR valve itself or the EGR position sensor on top of the egr. I just got done replacing those two and the EVR solenoid one at a time. EGR error quit coming back after I replaced the EGR position sensor.
If neither of those three fix the egr code, then I'm told that it is most likely a broken vacuum line.
From what I've seen, an "excessive clutch slippage" code is usually a accompanied by a high trans temp code if it is mechanical, like a torque converter. So your problem may (or may not) be a trans coil pack problem.
I replaced the solenoid pack about 6 months ago, so I hope its not that. I have a huge cooler installed and drain the pan often and have never gotten more than a touch of sludge on the magnet, Ive never burnt the fluid either. I suppose anything is possible, but I will swap that out as a last result.
