Normal Tranny Leakage?
I have an 86 6.9 with C6 trans. Under the truck I notice that it has an small trans fluid leak. Is this normal? What should be done? Last owner had trans replaced 4 years ago (20,000 miles). Truck has 145,000 on it. I also burn about 1 qt every 700 miles and was wondering if that seemed right.

No leak is normal. Where is it leaking? May be a simple seal change is all that is required.
After 145,000 a little oil consumption is normal.
The 6.9's can develop quite a thirst for oil when the mileage gets to 200,000 plus miles.

There is a small opening at the bottom of the bell housing, it looks to be coming from there. However the leak appears very small since I have not needed to add and trans fluid. Again the small opening on the bottom of the Trans bell housing it just forward of the filter pan.
