NP 435 Shifter ???
Is their any after market shifter's available for the NP435?I have a rebuilt NP435 im getting ready to put in my 79 F-250 4x4 Supercab.Im looking more for look's then peformance.Ive never seen one but it would be nice to have one like I did on a 85 T-5 by B&M.

i dont think a performance shifter would do any good on these trannies....by design they are simple and sloppy.....if you try shifting to fast they either grind or take a second to slide into gear...specifially from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to third.
i rebuilt mine recently and it shifts great dont get me wrong...but your never going to have it shift like a zf-6 in a corvette

A couple of things I've seen done. One guy cut his down and rethreaded the top and put a Hurst T handle and shock boot on it, actually looked pretty cool. You could also cut the shaft below the boot and weld a different shifter on it. Get a piece of bar stock the thickness of the current shifter( 1/2" or 5/8th" I think) heat and bend it the way you want. Just make sure it clears first and reverse.
