90 5.0 efi starting problems
I've looked and saw nothing comparing to my problem. When I tried to start my truck this morning, it acted like it was loading up then stalled. I pulled a few plugs and they are wet with gas. I pulled the AIr control valve and the plunger is working but I'm not sure that the sloenoid is working. Am I going in the right direction? If I hold the pedal to the floor, it will try to start. This is my work truck and I would greatly appreciate some help. TIA Dave

Do you mean IAC? Even if the plunger seems to work, the passages may be all gunked up. Try cleaning that out. It almost sounds like you aren't getting spark though, getting gas but no fire. Look here too. Could be the coil, rotor/cap, or even the wire from the coil to the cap. I've also heard of a distributor shaft breaking or gears stripping out.

Thanks, I haven't checked the amount of spark. I know that there is some spark because it tries to start. I will check the spark. Isn't it something how you get an idea in your head and don't think about the other simple things. Guess that's why I posted. thanks again, Dave
