I apologize now if this has been disgusted over and over but I am fairly new here. I just got home from buying my first 79 F250 Crew Cab 4x4 w/ the 460 in it. Drove it from Oregan to Arizona straight through. I had no problems all the way home and 10 miles from home the fuel pump starts acting up.
Getting to my question, I am intrested in going with an electric pump and by passing the original. What are your thoughts on this? What are the advantages and disadvantages? Thankyou for all your guys help and I am sure you will be seeing alot of me around with this new truck.

I can't think of any advantages for a stock engine. Except if you run out of gas you can get fuel to the carb w/o cranking on the engine. If your engine is modified an elec may assist in getting enough fuel to carb
