I need to know how to hook-up a pushbutton ignition on a "93 F150. I cannot replaace the whole column, so I need to bypass the switch and hook a button directly to starter. Thank you. lisa
You will either A) Get a new steering column from the bone yard or local ford dealer B) Rig up a push button start to your starter relay solenoid under the hood....
Replacing the colums probably not much harder than hooking up a starter button.
I had a button on mine for awhile (temp) and it was hooked to the 2 biggest posts on the selnoid on the right front fender.
I agree 100% with Guitar-Stitch.Going to the two large posts will cause the[temporary]button to overheat[HOT].ALWAYS make sure the truck is in neutral or park before starting.Remember-it does not have fuse protection.I would recommend-repair it correctly. It will also not have any device for neutral or park[safety] starting .
Be safe and good luck.
