Timing 460
Just built fresh 460 need some information on setting the initial and total timing?
What do you recomend for these settings. The motor is bored .030 over, Kieth Black pistons 9:1 compression,Performer Rpm manifold,750 Edelbrock carb, MDS ingnition,Comp cam 268 H-10,Hooker header & 2 1/2'' dual Flowmasters Running motor in 85 F250 4x4 with C-6 and 4:88 gears. Also having some stumble from off idle. Any help would be great. Thanks

i would set it at spec with no vac advance. then set the idle and plug in the vac advance to ported vac. to check you centrifugal you can unplug the vac advance and watch the timing mark as you rev the motor, it should increase the timing by about 10-12 degrees after maybe 1500-1600 rpms then if you plug the vac in it should advance another 10-12 degrees for a total of 36-38 degrees @ 2500-3000 rpms.
