My 64's Seat Is Crap I Really Need To Get A New One What Seat Can I Get That Will Bolt Right In To My 64? And Maybe Something That Will Give Me A Little More Leg Room.
Sorry, the cabs are short so the leg room issue is gonna remain. You can use seats up to 79 for a direct bolt in, and up to 96 if you use your rails. The newer seats are wider so if you have a CC with arm rests you will have to open both doors to tilt the back forward. I ruined a passenger side arm rest.
It might be better to swap the rails anyways, because the tilt latch on the newer ones hits the gas tank. I shortened mine with a sawsall.
I made a patch for my '70 and welded it in. Little filler and paint and you'd never know there was a hole there. I've also seen a rubber plug made for larger series trucks that have saddle tanks. Somebody had a source for NOS ones a while back on this forum. Leg room is a problem; there's buckets in my '64 now, and they're worse instead of better than the original seat.
I just put a pic of my seat in my gallery. I got it back from the shop today. It's kind of hard to see but check out the embroidery work. I think they did a great job recreating the hood emblem on the seat back. The embroidery shop has this digitalized so they can stitich it again. Message me if you want their info.
I was going to post this after I got it installed but since the question is out there...I am trying to retro fit a power adjustable brake and accelerator pedal set up from an '03 Super Crew into my Uni project. The mount isn't a problem in fact it almost bolts in. The electric throttle will take some work. That's how I'm making more leg room in mine.
