ok this is on my moms windstar, a 03 and we bought from the dealer as a program vechile in november, with 3500 miles on it, well now it has 12k on it, and the back drivers window, the power ones that kinda swing open, well the drivers side one wont work, but the other one will

does any body know how i might fix this

and also the back part of the van the speakes are messed up, tehy like to swtich, without touching any buttons, like fade out so far they wont make any noise, wile the one right across from it will work, and its not like we touch any buttons or played with the fade, it just wont work, sometimes just one will be fuzzy sounding

how could i fix that, for that matter how do i get to the speakers int he back?

I would take it into the dealer with a list of things that are wrong. It should still be under the 36/36 bumper to bumper warranty.

I just got a '00 windstar for the family. The antenna is internal. No place to put my antenna topper.
I'm still searching for a good forum about Windstars.

Well I rented a Windstar once when I was hit by some dummy in a SUV and it was at the body shop the drivers side front end was crushed I was hit while I was parked on the side of the street and the Aero was only 6 months old at the time and didn't have my 3rd backup car yet and the wife needed our only remaining one.

I know what you mean by the back windows they open by a straight piece of plastic the motor shaft is positioned at the end and the other end is on the window glass so when the motor turns the shaft pushes out the window and opens it. Thats what it was like on the Windstar I got anyways.

If you get current at the motor wires when you press the switch the motor is probably shot or the mechanism is somehow sticking but I'd bet its the motor in this case.

If you get no current at the wires when the switch is pushed check into the switch with a continuty test if it is working then check continuity on the wiring.

You know why there is not a Windstar forum here? Its because nobody is partial to a winny, and most of the technical problems with Winnies can be found under Taurus. Now the Aerostar, that is a real van, in fact the best one ever designed by any manufacturer. I don't care what people say, I'll take the Aerostar over any other van, and over most SUVs too.

As much as I love the Aero I just wish replacing the oil pan and spark plugs were easier this vans unique alright removing the tranny to replace the pan gasket .

Then again I caught a look under the hood at my local Ford dealer at the Freestar while waiting for parts and even though it was Front Wheel Drive they looked pretty hard to get to also.
