bed sizes

bed sizes

Can someone tell me what the diff is between a '72 & '73 bed size? Mine is a Styleside long bed.

if im correct the long bed and short bed from both years are the same length,but dont quote me on that....

The 73 4x2 had a wider frame in the rear, so the bolt holes won't line up. They are the same length, but the 73+ bed had a full double wall construction, while the 72 only had double walls from the wheelwell down, so it had more inside width above the wheelwells.

tonneau covers

Was at the "tonneaus" website, and they all listed a cover for a '73 and up. I guess the tops (rails) of the beds would be the same dimensions?

Yeah, for a cover they were all the same. I had a cap on my 69 that was originally on a 89 F-150, then a 78 F-150, then an 88 F-250. It fit all about the same.

Same thing here. Bought my '72 used with a cap on it and it also fit my '83
