Timing on duraspark upgrade
Hi i just upgraded my ignition system on my 73 360 to a duraspark distributor,msd blaster box and a msd blaster2 coil It runs killer now 
i have the timing up to 18* btc does that sound right or is it too much it doesn't ping

I run a Duraspark sytem on my 390 and have run it up to 20 degrees btc at Idle. It really just depends on the cam you have and what your total timming is. What I mean by total timming is that your distributor does not advance past 40 degrees as you rev up the engine. anything past that will usually give the ping that you hear.
