Does anyone out there still listen to Elvis?

I was up at the local 7/11 a few minutes ago, and saw an Elvis Christmas tape on sale - so I made a comment on it.

There was a Li'l gal next to me in line, and she said if she had the cash she would NAB it!

So I bought it fer her, and said merry Christmas...

*shrugs*

Still dunno why....

But Elvis was a story in American musical history that is probably unparalleled. He was born in a row house in Memphis Tennessee, and just got up and sang one day, with all of his natural born "Cool" about him. And people dug it.....

I wonder if that was on CD, would I buy it for ME? I'm a ZZTOP head, personally. And any other rasty southern BLUES I can git my hands on!

I dunno, christmas carols by the King - do I wanna go there?

Yeah, mebbee so.....

(?)

Must have got mixed up because my Wife pointed out a bunch of run-down looking houses in Memphis and told me Elvis used to live in one of them (down towards Beale street, somewhere).

~And I got the CD!

That's where the Presleys moved to, after leaving Tupelo.
Elvis went to the high school there and won a singing contest, singing Old Shep.
A song about a dog.
