Reason: more info.
Sounds like the blower motor , I just changed mine . I pulled it out and tested it on the bench and it would work but wouldn't work in the truck . the shaft on the motor was pitted and corroded . A replacement is $39 at Advance Auto , $42 at Auto Zone and $45 at NAPA . Mine quit working when we were visiting our daughter and son-inlaw at Fort Bragg NC. and it got down to 17 deg. and thats too cold for this Fl. boy !
Ya man, I was thinking that I was going to have to pull the motor, not a big deal but thought it might be a simple relay or something dumb. but ya I am here in New Mexico and it's been wet and cold here as well , so gotta get er done. Thanks for responding,

Ya could pull the conector off the blower motor and see if there is current there .
wierd I pulled the motor and gave it 12volts and it runs ok. and I get power to the connector. unitl I connect it to the motor then voltage reads 0. if I give it voltage to the hot side motor will run when bolted back up. checked the resistor its not burned or anything. WIERD.

Yeah that's the same thing mine did ! Except mine wouldn't run when I put it back in the truck even when I put a jumper wire on it . See if one of the auto parts stores will let you take a new motor out in the parking lot to see if it will run when you plug it in , you can hold it in your hand and not install it . I know most places will not let you return electrical stuff but maybe one will go along with you on this .
I tryed to call the dealer to see what they had to say, and they said the resistor could be the problem but I pulled it and it didnt look burned or anything. I am sure it's not the motor I had it checked. and it runs fine in or out of the truck. so that just leaves the switch that will be a pain to get to.
I will need a copy of the fuse box ident. they are numberd but no discription. ( I never got a copy of the owners manual) there is a relay that I need to fiind before I get to taken apart my dash. I have a haynes manual but it doesnt give a ident. any Idea where I could get that info.
I doubt it's the resister , the blower motor will work on high only if the resister is bad . Try posting in Cooling , Heating , Ventilation and AC forum , you may get someone who has done it and can answer your question . I hope your weather isn't too cold !

Not too bad it picked a good time to go gunnysack, got kids though, and they squall it up if they get a little chill, ya know. thanks for the help I will try that.
Ok so it turns out that the blower relay went kaput. and I looked all over the net for the damm thing and cant find it. It's a ford part #FOAB14B192-AA. any one know where to find one.

cgiojola , is there any info printed on the relay ? Maybe an auto-electric shop would have one that would match . Seems as though someone would have a relay of the same specs , they're pretty simple devices .
