I have a Milwaukee circular and sawzall that were made here. My Porter Cable polisher/sander is. Not 100% sure where my Makita stuff is made. They have "Makita USA, Buford, Georgia " on them and there is, in fact, a Makita manufacturing facility there. The batteries on the Makita drills are made in Japan.
From the way it looks I only have one Chinese made power tool. It runs like it too.
Man-I love my worm drive skilsaw! I have yet to bog it down. Using it is like running a table saw upside down over a piece of wood. Best money I ever spent on a power tool.
The only drawback is that it is a heavy saw. Cutting bottom plumb cuts on rafters after they are on the roof really gives the ol' forearms a workout.
Most of Milwaukee's stuff is made in the US. Which is why I buy their stuff rather than non US made tools.
Buy US made the job you save may be your own. On another note it appears Sears is bringing back some power tool manufacturing to the US. I walked by the display at the local sears and some of their new power tools are made in the US. Almost passed out at the sight wife needed to revive me!!!.
I think at least some of the Rigid (home depot) are US made. I think they are Emerson Electric, the same company that USED to build craftsman power tools - back when they were a well made tool. Greg
