vacum leak
I have a 96 with 5.0 302. I had it tuned last fall and it ran fine. During the cold weather I noticed a whistle when the engine was cold. I also noticed an intermittant hiss, especially when it was warming up. Now it is running rough. Could the sounds I heard be involved? Thanks for the help.

You can check for a vacuum leak by using a propane torch, unlit, and pass the propane gas around any areas for potential leaks. Intake manifolds, upper and lower and all the plastic vacuum lines from the various components. If your idle changes at any point while doing this that could be a leak. You might want to do an advanced search by TPS ( Throttle Position Sensor ) and obtain the test procedure for it too. Wouldn't hurt to check it.
