4x4 kingpin disc conversion

At the risk of beating a dead horse (I searched and did not find an answer), I am looking to put disc brakes on my @1968 kingpin D44 (4x4). While it seems there has been adequate explanation (I read the Tech article) about 2wd conversions, 4wd does not seem so clear. Can anyone provide me any insight on how to get discs on this unusual axle?

is it a f100, f250???? I used a 77 f150 front axle under my 72 f100 4x4, everything bolted right in place

It's a 68 Kingpin (not balljoint) d44 from a F100. Lets pretend that an full axle swap isn't in the works -- any way to put disks directly on this axle? Would disc conversion parts for an early bronco kingpin D30 do the job?

I don't know on that one, I never seen a early bronco with d30 & disks. check with james duff ints. they sell disk conversions for those broncs, when I checked it worked out better for me to do a complete axle swap, it was cheaper

Complete disc brake D44's go from $100-$250 all the time. That's likely why you haven't found any info on converting your axle.

There was a post here about using Chevy parts to turn a 4x4 mini-king pin into disc brakes.

I just finished this swap on my '72 with ball joint D44. Assuming your knuckles use the standard 6-bolt spindles, you can use mid-'70s Chevy spindles, backing plates, and calipers. I used all of my parts for a 1976 4WD Blazer. The hubs and rotors are for an '80 4WD F-150. You have to grind just a little bit off of the knuckle to give the caliper clearance to slide, but that's it. I used a '76 F-250 master cylinder, it bolted right to my '72 booster.
