truck rusting

my 85 has started to rust, bad, because its left outside now at school instead of my warm garage at home. most of the rust around the rear wheel wells is surface rust, but on my driver side front fender there is just a nice little hole in the fender down by the door. Funds are limited, but have the know how and will to fix it myself. What are your suggestions to stop this problem before it takes the rest of my beautiful truck?

Can you get to the back of the fender? I have some rust on my van, and because of the weather, I can't fix it right now. I bought some Rustoleum industrial coating from Graingers and put it all over it and behind it until the weather turns warm enough to fix it.

thanks trike, yeah i can get to behind the fender. This stuff your talking about is like a spray can or like a puddy, and like you said just coat it for protection until the warm weather right?
