Holy smokes! That thing has been beat to hell! What happened to the rear bumper? Man, I am so happy we don't get rust this way! I would tend to think that $1500 is a little high. Anyways, good luck with your new project.
The rust doesn't look too bad for a truck from the rust belt, although it does look like it saw its fair share of work judging by the actual body damage. For $1500 I think you didn't do too bad looking at the good shape of the interior (for its age) and assuming it runs well.
I've seen 4x4 that you needed a tetnus shot just to sit in and really had no interior go for $1000 or higher up here in Northern Michigan.
It's worth $1,500 if it has an I6 and only 66K original miles, especially as a second or winter truck. That thing will run forever, and he has a sweet F series pickup in his gallery so I would assume that the Bronco would be a winter driver for him. Admittedly, I wouldn't want it; but people in the rust belt areas get used to seeing rust and to them it doesn't seem so bad.
I enjoy my rust-free Bronc, even the tailgate is clean.
The pics I guess don't do this thing justice. It is in remarkable shape (I have seen 96's here with more rust) yes it has some rust only 1 hole the rest is surface. The bumper was done by a trailer. I don't know about the dings but that don't bother me. I will put in one patch panel paint it and ready to go. My second bronco was a 80 and it had 4in of rust all the way down both sides (thru holes). I will be driving this thing daily and mainly got it for the reliability I already have a gas guzzling bad **** 4x4.
When I get it cleaned up I'll post more pics.
Thanks Wayne
i could be more like 166k miles. especially on an 82...
My '82 read 24,000 when I bought it - 13 years ago, so it was probably 124,000, maybe 224,000. I KNOW I've put on 185K, so it has either 309,000, ... or 409,000.
definatly got some work to do... Looks nice inside and the motor looks pretty clean.. Just be ready for rusted brake lines dry bushings everywhere....not just whats on those fenders....it looks like it may have been just sitting still for a while...so u have lots of fluids to change
Thats not a bad truck for 1500, theres a nice dash and panels, nice glass and I was surprised that it even had carpet in the back let alone how good condition it was in.
nice buy. -Bill

It has a rubber mat over the entire floor in great shape just dirty. I have been driving it for a two days and it just drives great, I plan to drive it for a couple of more days and get a feel of what it needs and then tear in to it. I will change all fluids, brakes, rotors turned (slight shimmy), and drive shaft ujoints, they are the kind you cannot grease. the front end will get greased. Can I drill and tap the front ball joints and put in zerk fittings or will I need to replace them?
Under the hood I plan to change valve cover gasket, complete tune up,belts and hoses, and a fuel pump. Any sugesstions?
Under the truck rust is a serios issue it is just surface rust with a lot of the orignal undercoating just starting to peel no holes and all soild so I need to stop it. I have thought of spaying oil. Any Ideas?
