Superchips 87 Oct Program or Higher Oct Program
Hi,
I just got my Superchips 1715 for my 97 Expy 5.4L and used the 87 Oct Program since I had 87 Oct Gas in it. I must say it worked pretty well and I did notice a difference in the way the Expy runs.
Now before I do anything else, I am wondering, exactly how much more difference will I feel if I use the Superchips "Performance" setting for the higher octane gas??? I mean is it even worth the extra costs???

The the FAQ at the top of this forum section (the topic, in big letters is Chip and Tuner Frequently Asked Questions - READ BEFORE POSTING HERE) addresses this:
Q Must I use premium fuel with a gasoline tuner or chip?
A Its not strictly required (if an 87 octane program is used) but you lose most of the benefit of a chip if you don't use premium fuel programming.
In other words, you're currently not getting the most benefits from it now.
