Hi guys,
I made a sheet metal glove box for my 64 Fairlane back in 77. I still have it today and it's just as good as when I made it. The olny thing about using sheet metal is that small items like coins, screws, fuses and the like will sometimes cause a rattle. A small piece of carpet laid in the bottom cures that though.
Ken,

Smile lining the glovebox...

i have discovered the 'shelf-liner' that is a type of rubber mesh fabric or rubberized fabric that clings to a shelf and also clings to anything on the shelf. it is available in a variety of colors and differenct thickness too. it serves to kill rattle and vibration quite well. i've seen it at walmart and dollar store as well as most supermarkets too.

Does anyone have a link to a plastic glove box liner replacement for a 1979 F150. I have looked every where and am now of the opinion they no longer exist! Many thanks!

Partly depends on how old the computer case is - the really nice ones from the '90s were about 17 gauge (1.4mm thick) steel, current ones can run as thin as 22 gauge and yes, there is a HUGE difference in bending force needed.

Too bad that isn't a PDF templet of the box. I don't have enough of the original box to make one so I would have to buy a new one.

I put a plastic glove box liner from Bronco Graveyard in my truck probably 10 years ago. It’s great and heat has not bothered it at all, neither has cold!

Depends on who made the case - most now are very thin steel, on the order of .8mm thick. High end cases (eg. Axxion cases) were 1.8mm steel and were SOLID. And tough to re-form.

I'm also interested obtaining a plastic glove box. NPD doesn't even have them on back order for the past consecutive two years. PM me if you have one for sale. Thank you
