I've got a Tekonsha Prodigy and, after using 4 different models from 2 different manufacturers over the years, can say it's the best I've ever used. Others in this forum using the Prodigy have said the same thing. It's not the cheapest but it's worth every penny, IMHO.
Prodigy gets enough favorable remarks across the Internet that I just purchased one myself. Haven't got to use it yet, but it looks like a nice unit. Best price I found was at rjays.com
I had a prodigy and traded it out for a excursion made by husky. It is based on the prodigy technology but has some fine tuning. ie: better power settings, metal casing, better range of install degrees, etc. I liked my prodigy, but have been extremly happy with my excursion. They both cost about the same, about $130.00. I am a believer that competition makes better products and this is a good example.
Prodigy terrific, aklthough the gain **** is a weak link. Had one and loved it, but had to be replaced on the road because the boost **** broke. Could not get another in a hurry, so went down to the voyager. A good unit also, but not as easy to set so the trailer doesn't jump.
