ignition problem

I have a 1985 bronco 300 six. And the problem I am having is as i drive it some times the truck will just die. When it does i WOULD PULL OFF THE ROAD TURN OFF THE KEY COUNT TO THIRTY AND START IR BACK UP IF IT DON'T START TURN OFF KEY COUNT AGAIN AND IT WOULD USUALLY START. ANY ANWSERS.

that sounds like the dizzy module is about to go, they have a very fickle nature about them, sometimes they go all at once, other times, they will play with your mind, and go off and on, i would see what the general concensus is with the rest of the group, but that is what i would check out first.

I would first determine if it's spark or fuel. When it quits again, jump out and pull the aircleaner off and while looking down the carb throat, push back on the accelerator and see if you have two strong streams of fuel pouring in the carb.

what is a dizzy module? someone told me it could be the distributor mounted ign module goin goff when the engine got warm.

dizzy module is slang for distributor mounted ign module
