oil pan gasket
I have a 86 4x4 with a 300 6cyl. Is it possible to replace the oil pan gasket with the motor in the truck and if so what all is involved (ie. unbolting motor mount and jacking motor ect...)

I have an 84 F150 4x4 with the 300. I had to take the motor mount nuts off both sides, took the little plastic shroud off the top of the radiator too, just in case. As I started jacking up the motor I saw my fuel line to the pump was getting tight, so I pulled that off too. I also had to take the power steering return line off too. Had to raise the engine pretty high, might have been easier to hook a chain to the front and lift it. But I had used a block of wood with a small "V" under the vibration dampner, that worked for me.

I tell ya man, I sure hope that the pan on your 300 is updated from the design of MINE! If your pan has a round lip at the rear you've got troubles. I've tried both Victor and Fel Pro oil pan gasket sets and it seems that these manufacurers expect us to fit a square peg into a round hole!!! While the oil pan lip is round the seals from these two companies are rectangular! Good Luck to ya man!
