Oil pressure effect computer?

just wondering if the stock oil pressure sender sends anything to the computer? i want to put on an aftermarket mechanical gauge where the stock sender is and i don't really want to use a "T" fitting.. thanks!

Dont know about a Ranger but Fseries wiring in 95 book just goes to gauge. Some electric fuel pump systems have used oil pressure to keep fuel pump running in case of accident/rollover - F series uses inertia switch on firewall.

There won't be any computer issues, but you will have an annoying red light on the dash when the factory gauge thinks you have no oil pressure.

If you just have an oil pressure switch from the factory, you can ground the wire and be fine. You could also get a tee fitting and run both the stock switch and the mechanical gauge if there is room, that way, you still have the warning light should oil pressure drop below a certain amount.
