Headlights, what went wrong?
It's been a while since this topic came up, but I decided to hook up relays to my headlights. Following the diagram on Brights lights!, I hooked everything up. When I turned the lights on, they appeared bright. When I turned them off. The right side (passenger light) remained on? I checked the relays again. I used both posts #87 for the left side and right side for the low beam and another relay for the highbeam, just like the diagram. I even connected both wires from the low beam to #87 on one post only, no difference. I ran the hot lead #30 to the fuse block. I did run one hot 12V wire to both relays, not an individual hot lead to each, maybe that was what happened? . Anyways, I hit the high beams on, and whammo, blew the fuse out on the fuse block. Something went wrong? I do pretty good with wiring, but for whatever reason, this didn't work. I yanked the relays and wired the lights up as before. The low beams and high beams work great again. Kinda curious of what happened. I remember when I turned the lights on, I could hear the relays clicking on.
