when it get to be around 20F my tranny wont shift out of first when it in in drive, til it warms up or i just really get on it and it will shift well of 4000rpm
i just had the tranny rebuilt about 600miles ago, and it was fine when i had the -30 below temps and all of a sudden it wont shift but after it warms up the tranny shift's smooth as can be, and its not low on tranny fluid

Ford AOD transmissions had this problem and it was usually a sticking governor. I do not know if the C-6 uses a governor, but if so that is where I would start. If not start with whatever acts like a governor in a C-6
