Throw out bearing

I dont normaly drive my 71 f100 to work but my car was in the body shop and I had to. Well its about 120 miles round trip this is farthest that I drove it in a long time yesterday on my way to work it started screaching everytime I would let the clutch out at first I thought it was the throw out bearing bearing but the more I drove it I am now wondering if its the tranny after I let the clutch out I can hear the gears whining I'm not sure if the sounds are connected or not so my question will a throw out bearing screach like that or is it likely another problem.

Usually the bearing will squeal when DEPRESSED. As this is when it is under pressure. When released it will not usually turn much.

If you have it in neutral, clutch released and it still makes noise then it's most likely input bearing in tranny. Rev it up, if noise gets worse...it's mostly input bearing.

When is the last time you changed the fluid and checked the level?
