Well, that was fun! Once again, dealers only get incentive information for their own region- we're clueless as to what goes on in other regions. And, as Jeff mentioned, the rebates stay with your area of residence, not where you took delivery. If you follow this link you can see what rebates are in your area.
Yesterday I took delivery on a Superduty F350 under X Plan. Was very pleasantly surprised to see it came with $1500 rebate from Ford, for Alaska. Was expecting nothing, to maybe $500. The 2nd surprise was how well that 6.0 Diesel and torque shift transmission handled bumber to bumber traffic and then 65 MPH on the Glen Hwy headed north. Am one happy camper!
Darn!!! Jeff, did I tell you I am moving from Maine to Phili before I pick up my truck??
This is bad, already told the wife we were going ot save another $500. Whoops! So now do I claim stupidity or just blame Fords wacky way of distributing rebates?????
I may not have to claim either . I went to the rebate site and put in my zip and selected rebates for '05 superduty and it showed that the rebate was up to $1500 from 2/22 thru 2/28. James, that should cover you also. Jeff is my truck in yet??
bilter,
I checked last night. It said $2000 rebate on 2005 non-6.0 and harley. Today it says $2500 rebate. Unfortunately the dealer I was going to go through, doesn't have anything I want and if they order it, they will only give me the rebate of what is in place when truck arrives. Did get them down to invoice minus rebate, but they want to really let me have it with my trade.(2003 silverado reg. cab, lwb,v-8, auto, 4X4,a/c ,cd player, tilt, cruise) They said $14000 for trade. Seemed a little low since they had same truck on lot black instead of red, same mileage, same options for $20895. Oh well, will start over looking again.

James call Jeff at Van Bortel Ford. I got tired of dealing with Maine dealers so I ordered form Jeff. Under invoice, no haggling, well worth the trip to NY to get the truck.

I agree, call Jeff. I'm 850 miles away and still ordered from him. Its nice to do a new purchase and not have to worry about getting the shaft when its time to sit down at the table!

I would in a "new york minute" if it wasn't for having a trade-in. There is just so many variables when you throw a trade into the mix.Just the same I have put alot of thought into that idea in the last few weeks.
When you buy out of state, the only real difference is you pay sales tax when registering instead of at the time of sale(i.e. included in price)?
James
1) You'll pay tax when you register it, in your home state. If you live outside NY, then you'll pay no sales tax here. The only charge is $55 for an in-transit permit (temp tag).
2) We take trade-ins over the 'net all the time. You need to give me an ACCURATE, DETAILED description of the vehicle. Based on your description, we'll establish a price range ($14500-$15500, for example), subject to seeing it, driving it, and obtaining a clean CarFax report. Digital photos (inside and out) are a big help. The only time we have a problem is with people that claim to have a "showroom new" vehicle, and then they show up and it looks like it's been through a demo derby. This is where detailed descriptions, photos, and HONESTY prevent any problems.
