Question Surging and Cam Sensor Problem ?

Has any one had problems related to there cam sensor? I own a F250 6.0 and on my way to Texas I had problems in St. Louis MO, my truck started to surge and buck and eventually died out, I also happened to be towing my 24' Trailer at the time. The dealer I took it too has over 40 hours of diagnosis time. They just called and told me the reluctor related to the cam sensor went bad and they need to replace the motor. I only have 7K miles on it, too bad it wasn't 70K. Has any one heard of other problems like this needing to replace the Motor

Also does any know Fords Policy for rentals, because I had to Rent another F250 "Gasser" to finish my trip to Texas and then return to Chicago. I had no choice because i was hauling my trailer. Will they pay for this? The dealer said it will be about 10 days before I get my truck back. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Mike
