intake swap?

ok, here's me dilema. I want to know if a performance intake manifold off of a mustang will work on my truck. If they're the same motor, then shoudn't everything fit together? A guy i work with has a chevy pick-up, with a 350 in it. He put a corvette tuned port fuel intjection intake on his truck and it's making me wonder if i could do something similar.
any input is greatly apprecieted and everything will be taken into consideration.

thanks guys,
Garrett

It will bolt up, but all of the attatchments will be in the wrong place. The throttlebody and sensors will be in a different location and will not hook up to the exsisting plumbing.

Plus the mustang intake would move your power band too far up, it would kill all the low end torque you need for moving a heavy truck.

I'm a little new to modular engines but what about it kills the low end torque?

The car intakes have shorter & larger intake runners designed for high RPM power. At low RPMs, the intake doesn't have very good velocity. But once RPMs start to build, the short/large runners flow well.

The truck intakes have longer & smaller runnners that maintain velocity at low RPM's. The problem is that at high RPMs, the longer/smaller runners don't flow as well and high RPM power suffers.

Some of the DOHC engines have multi-runner designs. At low RPMs, one set of runners feed the cylinders than at a certain point, butterflys open up and a different set of runners feed the engine at higher RPMs.

Shorter intake runners mean less torque and higher rpm HP.
