05 S/D lighting?
Anybody do a headlamp upgrade yet? I remember reading something about a new style bulb (7008?) for 05 but I couldnt locate it. I was thinking about PIAA's

Finding references for the 9008 bulb (looking for replacements) has been futile. I think that the bulb is also called an H13 (or something like that). I did find references on the Web for the H13, but it appears to only be available from Sylvania at the moment - and it's the same bulb that's in the truck already.

An upgrade (according to email from Sylvania) would be their Xtra Vision 9008. As much as 20 or 30% brighter (according to them), not by wattage but by moving the filament. Long life is another attribute to this bulb.
Also, they said that DOT will not allow them to build the 9008 in their Silverstar line without some sort of waiver that is not inprocess.

That's interesting - I looked at the Xtra Vision line and others and couldn't find any references to supporting the 9008 bulb style. The next question is where we'd be able to get some of these mystery bulbs...

morcutt....according to Sylvania....the 9008 Xtra Visions are available now at stores.
In fact, I just talked to Sylvania a few minutes ago and was told that 9145 Silverstars will be out around April. 9008s are "in the works" and may take until next year or the Fall.
