I've had a problem with my wipers for awhile, and it now has aggravated me enough to post for a solution. They seem to decide not to wipe the entire windsheild every once in awhile. I tried to notice a pattern (warm weather/ cold weather) to no avail. I have tried re-bending the arm, also to no avail. If I push down on them, they will work fine, I'm guessing new springs will solve my issue? Anyone else with this problem? Thanks.
Hope we're talkin about a 97-03 F150 and not the vet here. Use a scew driver to pop the plastic cover off where the wiper arm attaches. Then just tighten the nut a little. Their made to slip so that ice are whatever won't damage any thing.

Indeed we're talking about the truck. I'll tighten the bolts a bit tonight and see if that works. I hope it's that simple, it has become annoying. Thanks for the info!

I should clarify the problem. The wipers are completing their entire pass along the windsheild, but they seem to be lifting from the windsheild while in motion. I can push down on them and clean the entire area, but when they are on without me helping them, they lift. I wonder if stronger springs would cure this.
If its weak arm springs you would notice that they get worse at higher speeds { lifting off windshield} Have you changed the blades?
Yes, blades are new. Second set actually. This problem occurs at speeds as well as sitting still. I am at a loss. There is no pattern. I could go outside tonight, and they'd work fine with washer fluid, but when I actually may need them they may miss a large portion of their path.
I notice that on mine it the blades miss the bottom right corner of windshield (passenger side). It's like the blade doesnt curl enough to get it. Normal...anything to fix?
