steering wheel radio controls

I have ordered an '05 SD CC lariet with the luxury package. Anyway, I ordered just the base radio sigle cd player because my intention has always been to upgrade to an aftermarket reciever / speakers. Is there a connector out there that will alow me to keep using the steering wheel control buttons. I spoke to Crutchfield and they usually recomend a SWIX steering wheel control adaptor but they said there is not one available for thr Ford Sd's. Any audiophiles out there that have the answer to this?

Check to see if they have one for the Excursion. I would imagine it would be the same setup.

Look under the Audio section. There are a few threads about this. I have a similar problem. I want to hook up to the AUX button but there are as of yet no adaptors for the 05'. Its a totally different radio than in the earlier models.

The swix works just fine follow the excursion single unit install.

i put my emiter in the steering colum shroud just above the ignition switch and it works my eclipse nav unit just fine.
