I purchased a 1973 F-100 and upon inspecting the engine I discovered that it has a stroke of approx. 3 3/8 in..I know it is an FE but I am not sure of the bore yet.All info I have indicates a 332.Is this a rare engine?

I can't imagine somebody putting a 332 into a 74. If so it is certainly uncommon. Is it at all possible that the stroke is really 3 1/2? 1/8" would be easy to miss. It would make much more sense if it turned out to be a 360.
I'm with scouder on this, I also believe it is most likely a 360. Anything other than a 360 or 390 would be a transplant. My truck happens to be one though.
Secondly, I will agree with the previous posts and toss something else in. If your truck is all original, take a look at the VIN tag on the driver door. The serial number will start F10x, where x is the engine code. A 360 will have a "Y" and a 390 will have a "H".
Thanks for the help and the quick responses.I appoligize for not giving all the info available:It is not the original motor in the truck,The intake manifold is a factory part...#C48E9425A.Thanks for your help.
unfortanatly the part number on the intake will not help a great deal as it will fit all the FE motors. even with the engine swap you will probally find you have the 360 or the 390.
The C4 casting on the manifold indicates a 64 unit. It appears you will need to dig in a little more to get a correct answer. Is the manifold a 2 or 4 barrel?
